As A Record Company Executive
From 1977 thru1981, Steve was the Creative Manager of Hansa/Ariola UK. He was responsible for signing THE CURE, THE THOMPSON TWINS, JAPAN, SARAH BRIGHTMAN. In his duties as A&R man, he worked with the above artists, as well as, BONEY-M, AMI STEWART, PETER SARSTED, CHILD, SHEILA B. DEVOTION, PLASTIC BERTRAND, ERUPTION.

As An A&R Manager
In the 80s, Steve became an A&R man for Red Bus Records, where he looked after JOCELYN BROWN, OLIVER CHEATHAM, MARSHA RAVEN, (produced her chart record, "I Like Plastic", Top 10 in Japan), 2THE CORE, THE EMOTIONALS.

As The Founder of the Dr. Beat Dance Label
In 1989, Steve started his own dance label, DR. BEAT. He ran it successfully for 2 years with the following acts :
MUTHA HOOD (top 5 in Indi chart), MARK THE 45 KING, ("The 900 Number" sold 57,000 12 inch records), THIRST, ("The Enemy Within" Top 40 national charts), WESTBAM ("Monkey Say Monkey Do“ was used as a club anthem throughout the U.K.), RHYTHUM ASYLUM, DIORR ("More More More" was in the double platinum album, "Hot Summer Nights" released on the Stylus label.)
